About Us
Cardinal Insurance Agency, Inc. opened its' doors for business on February 1, 1999 at the old Hall House located on Oak Avenue in Spruce Pine, NC. The four owners of the Agency; Bill R. Burleson, Michael R. McKinney, Lee A. Ellis, and W.F. (Freddy) Burleson ventured into uncertain waters on that date with a confidence that success could come from persistence and hard work.
On the day we opened not one piece of business had been written. We had high hopes that even though we did not have a "book of business" we did have a "book of relationships" accumulated over the years from the four partners having been in the insurance business in the Mitchell, Avery and Yancey County area.
The response of the community to Cardinal Insurance Agency, Inc. has been phenomenal and in subsequent years we believe we have established a position in the community for honesty, integrity and insurance knowledge that is second to none. We believe, if we aren't already, we will be the premier agency in the area we service. We have expertise with three of our eight employees having over 25 years experience each.
After our original opening and location on Oak Avenue in downtown Spruce Pine, the CP&L building at 1158 Greenwood Road became available which we bought in October 1999 and moved into on November 1, 1999. We plan to remain at that location until we outgrow the building.
We feel our future looks bright and promising and we look forward to many years of serving the insurance needs of the area. Come join us as we live up to our motto: Your Protection is our Policy.
